Battery Backed AC/DC Power Supply

The battery backed PSU has 115/220 AC selectable input with a 24v DC output. It is designed to provide a minimum of six hours power to the BNWAS in the event of ship supply failure.

Two Yuasa Sealed lead-acid model NPH5-12 5 AH -20 to 60 deg C rating. (RS 320 4508) The batteries operate in any orientation except Inverted. Float-charged as recommended by Yuasa to 27.3 volts using the constant voltage method. After supporting the s-VDR in reserve power mode (for 2 hours) the recommended recharge time is 10 hours. Battery Life is 4 years from installation. Alternative: Yuasa NP 4-12 (RS 198 8068) rated for 5 to 35 deg C

NMEA 0183 or IEC 61162 ports Channel 1 will accept 4800 or 38400 baud (SW selectable). Channels 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 & 8 only accept 4800 baud. Channel 6 is auto sensing at 4800 or 9600 baud.

OUTPUT   Data is output on a first-message-in first-message-out basis. Excessive input data is discarded and an overload LED is lit. Each message is delayed by at least its length, 2.1 ms per character, and it also has to wait until the current message has finished sending. Output baud rate 4800 or 38400.

Nominal 24v DC at 0.04 Amps. (18 to 32 volts)

INPUT  

8 groups of 4 opto isolated channels. Each group of 4 has its own common line. Voltage input high level 2 to 240 volts DC or AC. Input loading 4 to 10 mA. Voltage input must go to near zero (<5%) in the low state for reliable switching. Can supply its own 24v output for use with isolated contacts such as micro-switches and dry contacts. Series resistors are fitted to each input at installation time to suit the I/P voltage.

4 Channel Analogue to NMEA Interface

 

POWER   Nominal 24v DC at 2 watts. Isolated from ground.
INPUT   4 channels +/- 0.5v to +/- 30 volts for full scale (extendable with additional resistor). Adjustable. 50 K ohm input impedance. Isolated at more than 500 volts level. Sampled at 1.6 second interval. Analogue to digital conversion of 8 bits. 256 values. 4-20 mA signals can be measured by the voltage across the line, terminated in 100 to 500 ohms. The KW935 is not intended to have low resistance and be inserted into a loop with other receivers.1 NMEA 0183 port. Acts as data pass-through input channel so that data can be combined.
